Electronic

Adnan Kurtov

Electronic music is a fairly new and still evolving genre. Although it can be dated back to 1950s, when first steps in this field were taken by German and Japanese musicians (first electronic music studio established in Cologne and early experiments of Toshiro Mayuzumi), it was not until 1960s and 1970s when electronic music became a part of contemporary music. The breakthrough in electronic music was mostly influenced by early models of synthesizers, which were used as primary instruments in electronic songs. This was the era of famous artists, such as Brian Eno, Jean Michel Jarre and one of first electronic bands – Kraftwerk. These artists were renowned for their complex and innovative compositions, but soon another potential in electronic music was discovered and popularized. In late 1970s and in 1980s electronic music entered clubs and was becoming increasingly popular as dance music, enjoyed by those, who looked for entertainment factor in the music. Throughout following decades sampling devices and computers were used more often as the basic tools for creating electronic recordings, soon replacing even the most complex synthesizers. Today the electronic genre is so popular that no-one is surprised when rock stars use electronic samples as part of their compositions. Electronic changed our perception of music and currently DJ sets played from laptops are equally warmly received as live concerts. Electronic subgenres, which are on top and trendy are changing faster than in any other style of music. At Zazu Music booking agency we are trying to keep our finger’s on pulse of electronic music and we follow all current trends.
