Comprised of the astounding vocals of Jason Orton, the fiery fretwork of Mark Owen,
the virtuosic keyboards of Jason Long, the aggressive yet melodic bass playing of
James Long and the inventive, powerful drumming of Corey Stoll, CONFLICTED is a
modern progressive hard rock band whose music takes the listener on a sonic journey
full of unexpected twists and turns.
Formed in 2008 and consisting of seasoned veterans of the Toronto music scene, all
of the members contribute to the writing process resulting in a sound that can only
be classified as CONFLICTED. Centred around Jason Orton’s amazing 4 octave vocal
range, CONFLICTED is not afraid to stand up and show the world that they can
actually play while never losing sight of the music itself.
In the studio, CONFLICTED let their combined years of recording and engineering
experience shine. They collectively view the studio as a blank canvas on which to
paint their musical sound-scapes, and have the technical ability to know what brush
strokes to use. In early 2009, with James Long at the mixing and mastering helm,
they recorded their self-produced debut EP “CONFLICTED”.
In live performances, you will find not just one microphone, but four. James Long,
Corey Stoll and Mark Owen deliver rich, multi-part vocal harmonies as well as
additional melodies, complimenting Jason Orton’s lead vocals. Always dynamic and
entertaining performers, the word “showtime” is an integral part of their
vocabulary, capturing and engaging audiences from start to finish while prominently
featuring each member’s unique abilities.
Be it because of Jason Orton’s showmanship and stage presence, Mark Owen’s
electrifying solo excursions, James Long’s thunderous groove and chop, Corey Stoll’s
intense and relentless rhythms or Jason Long’s command of the keyboards and piano,
CONFLICTED is quickly making a name for itself as a premier, world class live act
that simply must be seen.
