Carolyn has been honored with 7 Detroit Music Award nominations this year! And the new CD “Honesty” is here, full of catchy pop with soulful vocals and sitar, trumpet, violins, manic rap and great psychedelic rock. This is not your average girl – armed with a strong musical background and degrees in Music for piano/voice and Creative Writing, Carolyn has recorded her own songs that stand the test of time. Carolyn’s songs and shows are melodic, sassy! sensual, stalking, memorable, – strong passion on heavy acoustic & electric guitars, grand piano & famously vivid performances. “Honesty” features unique, catchy tracks – a blend of cool folk and pop that also rushes into the realm of cabaret, punk and classical gas. Carolyn’s background includes London, U.K., Toronto & Detroit shows, Lollapalooza with Patti Smith, Carolyn’s own tour of Italy, and Japan, widely-attended Festivals, Clubs, Galleries, and her a stellar catalogue of albums and CDs. Carolyn also features electroacoustic high energy gypsy punk, dreamscape, bewitching magic folk-jazz w/a little cabaret -
“Is This Me?” was nominated for a 2009 Detroit Music Award and Carolyn has quite a story, working with greats Patti Smith, Luis Resto of Eminem, David McMurray of Kid Rock’s band, Scott Dailey, Jackson Smith, opening for Iggy & the Stooges, opening for Steve Earle in London, U.K. Carolyn played Detroit’s huge Cityfest, Grand Marais Festival, Porcupine Mountains Festival, Ann Arbor’s Art Fair, U.P. Michigan tour, Wyandotte Summer Festival Wine Crawl, Rivers Edge Gallery w/artists Patty Izzo and Niagara, Focus Hope Detroit Showcase/Annual Walk, & a big set at the Detroit International Jazz Festival in 2009. U.K in 2005. Has played much with super guitarist Scott Dailey, Joey Mazzola of Detroit Cobras, The Ragbirds, Vinnie Dombroski of Sponge/Crud/Orbitsuns and John Madison of the Detroit Symphony (viola). Carolyn’s going back to Europe in 2010 – this is the year for the real “Honesty.”
